I Remember: A Journey to Redemption

Life is a journey marked by moments that shape who we are. Some moments are joyous, others painful, but each one carries the potential to teach, transform, and empower. 

When I was younger, I penned a poem that encapsulated a deeply personal chapter of my life. It was raw, unfiltered, and rooted in experiences that shaped my understanding of the world. Today, I’d like to share that poem with you as part of my story, one of resilience and redemption.

I Remember

I remember as a child living on the streets eating out of dumpsters with my mother thinking this was normal

I remember being sexually assaulted as a child to support my mother's drug habit thinking this was normal

I remember being beaten by men that claimed they loved me thinking this was normal

I remember being pregnant as a child scared but trying to tell myself this is normal

I remember the day God came into my life, meet my husband, and my children all grown and God whispering this is normal

This poem reflects my journey—from a time when I believed pain and hardship were simply a part of life, to a place of healing where I redefined what "normal" means. I’ve learned that what we endure doesn’t define us; instead, it’s how we rise, heal, and move forward that shapes our identity.

Finding Strength in Faith

The pivotal moment in my life came when I opened my heart to faith. For me, God’s whisper was a lifeline, a gentle reminder that life could be more than survival—that it could be filled with love, stability, and peace. Meeting my husband and watching my children grow has been a testament to that promise.

Embracing the Journey

Starting Ethereal Echoes is my way of honoring the journey I’ve walked. It’s a space to reflect, to connect, and to share stories that uplift and inspire. I believe that in sharing our truths, we find healing—not just for ourselves but for others who may be walking a similar path.
